Running a business in 2024 can be really tough and challenging. If you run a brick and mortar store—you have to worry about inventory and employee schedules and overhead—and a million other things.
If you run an online store, you have to worry about the user experience, payment processing, shipping and handling—and so much more.
What’s the common theme here?
Worry. Anxiety. Stress.
That’s the old way of running a business. And business owners have been using this old method for hundreds of years. And it worked.
For a while.
And then it stopped working.
Do you know why?
Can You Teach an Old Dog New Tricks?
I used to work in the film industry. Yes, before I was an entrepreneur, before I was a school superintendent, principal and teacher. Before all of that—I worked in the film business.
And one of the films I worked on was called “Old Dog, New Tricks.”
I thought that movie title was appropriate because all of us went to school and in school we were taught very old ideas. You may not even realize it, since all of us were taught the same things.
Therefore, how would you even know the things you were taught were old?
UNTIL…
You learned new skills. And then you start to compare the “old way” of doing things against the NEW WAY of doing things—and that’s when you begin to realize.
“Oh my g-d! I need to learn new tricks for the 21st century!”
Change Your Mindset
I included a quote from George Bernard Shaw at the beginning of this newsletter, simply because I want you to start questioning the things you were taught. I want you to change your mind—so that you can start to see the NEW OPPORTUNITIES for your business this year.

How many sales are you making?
